Well, it's been a little over a week since my last update regarding my own experiences with taking trans-resveratrol. I've settled into a habit of taking 500mg daily between 1:00-1:30pm. For me just getting into a set regimen of taking a capsule every day is not that easy. We all have busy lives so making sure I take a pill every day at a certain time isn't always on the top of my mind. However, that said, I am certainly getting use to the routine along with my physical training every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Prior to getting into how I am feeling I thought it would be important to discuss what a "placebo effect" is. There are various meanings of the "placebo effect" but I find it best described as the mental aspects of a treatment or medicinal program. So if you have preconceived notions of what a drug/supplement can do for you it may be likely that just knowing these things can cause you to feel like they were occurring. Oh, how our mind plays tricks on us...
So now that you know what a placebo effect is I am going to do my best to explain my experiences in a realistic sense. What I might be feeling could just be a placebo effect and not an actual result of the trans-resveratrol.
This past week has been the best I've felt physically and mentally in years. The list of positives is long so I am going to make a brief list:
I've felt an exceptional amount of energy at just the right times - the best way I can explain this is as an "energy reserve tank." When I am at a point of exhaustion I get what feels like an endorphins rush that pushes me through an activity.
More refreshed after a shorter nights sleep - this is a big one for me because I have always had trouble sleeping. With out medication it is nearly impossible for me to sleep through the night no less get 7-8 hours of daily recommended sleep. Now, after 4-6 hours of sleep I feel refreshed... and not in a fake artificial way that many sleep medications give you. Now, I truly feel like I slept all night and have the energy to prove it.
Less soreness the day after a hard workout then previously noticed - my ability to recover from muscle stress and fatigue has increased. My workouts have been getting more intense but my recovery has been faster with less soreness.
Tighter skin - about half way through a workout I get a feeling of "tighter skin" which lasts for the remainder of the day. It's a bit more intense then the normal tightness you feel during any typical workout.
What seems to be a sharper mind - now this was a bit unexpected for me... I have a sharper response time to analytical thought and stressful situations. In my line of work there is an abundance of stress and my ability to react and deal with stressors has increased. I am hoping this increase is only the beginning and it gets more and more effective over time.
This list are my personal experiences and I am not sure whether or not they are true effects of the trans-resveratrol or not. I do know this... since starting the resveratrol I have felt physically and mentally better. Either way, I welcome the positive feelings it's giving me and intend to continue my research.
Starting tomorrow I will be increasing my dosage to 1000mg of t-res by adding a 500mg dose in the morning soon after I awake. I'll be sure to keep you all informed of my experiences regarding the increase.
Live Longer,
Markus

I started taking Resveratrole last night. I didn't expect this to happen, but I began to feel very sleepy after an hour. So I caved into my body's desire to go to bed and that was it. I woke up this morning sort of refreshed. I got up and took a shower, then took another dosage of Resveratrole. Right now, I'm feeling unusually sleepy again. I don't want to sleep, but my head feels heavy. Maybe I should be more active and get out. I'm taking Finest Natural Resveratrole with Red Wine extract. It contains 80 mg of trans-Resveratrole and 60 mg of Red Wine Poly. What do you think about these apparent side affects? I started taking Resveratrole because I've been feeling chest pains. I came across the hype of Resveratrole and its ability to combat heart disease. I believe my problem is a correlation among many different factors: high blood pressure, PAC, and/or anxiety stress disorder. My blood pressure this morning is 119 / 75 with a 69 heartbeat. I underwent a number of tests, x-rays, and blood tests, but the doctor said I was fine. My chest pains have lessened dramatically, but perhaps it's like your placebo effect dilemma.
Maybe other people are experiencing similar consequences as mine, so I am posting this to start a dialogue on your blog. Glad your reaping the benefits of Resveratrole. Although, I think you're taking an amazingly high dosage, especially since the FDA has not completed its preliminary studies on Resveratrole. I advise not getting sucked into the hype because adverse side affects are still not known. That's why I'm taking one pill of a combination of trans-Resveratrole and Poly (160 mg) in the morning and at night. I've heard rumors, though, that someone with type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer have been cured. Who knows. My chest pains have lessened after one day, and I didn't expect anything to change. I like to consider myself as the type of person who is not gullible.
Hope to hear your opinions on my predicament and insights on Resveratrole.

I've been taking 100mg of pure resveratrol for 2 weeks now, and like the person above, I have noticed that I am ALWAYS tired now.
My skin looks better, yes - gorgeous, even. But I wanted resveratrol to give me energy/increase physical endurance.
I'm not sure what to think about this, as nothing else in my routine has changed.

I should note that I have very healthy and normal blood sugar, blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol levels.
I also sleep well - always have. No insomnia.
So there's no correlation there.

Updating that the tiredness seems to be going away. Perhaps it was just temporary. My stamina on the treadmill does seem to be pretty good.
Will keep you updated.
