The past six months have been eye opening for me. I've had the pleasure of getting familiar with my active side again. I started a new training regimen, improved my diet, began using supplements, and started taking resveratrol. I am feeling better then I have since my early twenties!
My resveratrol experience has been eye opening to say the least. I've been fortunate enough to learn, share, and benefit from my resveratrol use. I am hopeful that the long term benefits of resveratrol, and a healthy lifestyle together, will enable me to live a longer and more active life.
I usually talk about all the positive things I've found resveratrol does for me mainly because there weren't any noticeable negatives. I believe I may have come across one and felt it was important to share it. Over the past few weeks I've noticed a stiffness in my finger and toe joints. Imagine trying to make a fist only its slightly difficult in a resistant way. There isn't any pain involved but it is definitely something I've been noticing.
This isn't something that would stop me from taking resveratrol at all. It is very minor and goes away after some slight flexing of my toes and fingers. After some research into this I also found others have reported a similar feeling. Again, not something that would stop me from continuing the use of resveratrol. For all I know it's not even coming from the resveratrol.
It's time for some measurements again. I am going to get my body fat, basal metabolic rate (BMR), weight, and blood pressure checked in the next week or so. I'll update my about page with the results and we'll pass along the new data in a post. I am hoping to have maintained my body fat levels (I am trying to gain weight right now) and increased my BMR.

Markus,
I would like to know if you are still having stiff joints. I have been taking a product with the highest strength and purest form of resvertarol on the market. I have also been experiencing the stiff joints.

It is very interesting what you are saying about stiffness in the toes. I have been taking resveratrol for about 3 weeks now, alongside other antioxidants and vitamins which I have been taking for much longer than that.
I too am experiencing painful toe joints to the point that my walk is shaky.
I have heard that only resveratrol derived from grapes is beneficial and not the one from polygonum cuspidatum root (which I have been taking), so it could be that this is the reason for the problems.
does anyone know of an organic source of grape-resveratrol, as grapes are heavily sprayed, a fact which may counteract all the benefits.

Does anyone have experience with ReserveAge's organic reservatrol with quercetin? What is trans-resveratrol? Diane

I've been reseraching this joint pain issue and stuff that have been bugging me for days and keeping me from recommending Resveratrol to anyone, I finally found out, Resveratrol causes lower estrogen levels in the body, we all know that, and lower estrogen has a normal symptom of joint pain. Research it anywhere, this is documented,
This can be easily solved with Vitamin D3 which regulates the hormones in the body. The people with more Vitamin D deficiency is the people who is going to have more problems with Resveratrol and joint pain. Just take some V-D pills and you're done, I'm sure the stiffness in your hands will go away.
I hope that all the people who have the infamous joint pain from Resveratrol know that they just have to take Vitamin D (1000 IU is the coolest dosage) to eliminate this rare side-effect and enjoy the great benefits of Resveratrol.

Wow. So glad I read this. I have been having terrible pain in my wrists, hands, fingers, knees and toes for a few weeks. I never tied if to the Res V until I started thinking about what I had changed in the last month. I have always taken large does of fish oil supplements to lower my tryglycerides and decided to try the same but try the one that included Res V. What a mistake. Especially since I have gone through menopause so my estrogen levels are already a problem. I am returning them tonight and getting the ones with fish oil only!! Oh, did I mention the insomnia?
